Scientific Council of CMI

The Scientific Council is the basic scientific body of the Institute. Its task is to deal with scientific problems of metrology and related scientific disciplines in connection with the tasks of the CMI, to analyse trends in the development of the relevant disciplines, to assess the results of the Institute´s scientific and technical work, to initiative programmes of applied research, to assess at the level of the CMI proposals fot the approval of natioanl standards and the announcement of CMI reference standards, and to assist in the education of the Institute´s scientific and technical staff.

The Scientific Council ensures that research and development form an integral part of the workload of the primary standardisation centres and that their work is in line with the needs of metrology in the Czech Republic and the state of scientific and technical development in the world.

The Scientific Council has at least 9 members from among external experts and scientific staff of the Institute, appointed by the Director General of the Institute on the basis of their prior approval. The aforementioned external experts are persons who can contribute to the development of the Institute's scientific activities through their scientific work or practical experience. The Director-General of the Institute and his Director of FM are also members of the Scientific Council.
